Bite Guard
Many people have a habit of clenching or grinding their teeth when sleeping. This can cause a variety of problems. Teeth may wear excessively or become loose, and muscles ache from over-activity. The temporomandibular joint located in front of the ear may develop symptoms. Wearing a bite-guard appliance to separate the upper and lower teeth is a recognized form of therapy. The design of the bite-guard can vary, and each guard is fitted to the individual’s mouth. Dr. Perlmutter often uses the NTI-tss bite-guard. He has a high rate of success and patient satisfaction with this appliance.
